it's photoshoot time! here's what to expect

Niahs clear goal for every photo shoot is to provide a safe, enjoyable experience where you can be yourself, laugh, and feel comfortable and confident. Her lighting, posing, and creativity expertise allow her to capture the perfect moment, bringing your creative vision to life and making you stand out! Whether you prefer a studio session downtown, an outdoor location in nature, or in a urban setting, Niah will work with you to find the perfect location that matches your unique style.

I believe in quality over quantity, so you will select the images I edit as hours on each of your images, ensuring your photos are edited to the highest perfection. Unedited Raw/Original Images are NOT included. All my pricing packages, frequently asked questions and online booking are below. I recommend booking 3 - 3.5 weeks before your desired post date. Once photos have been taken, proofs will be emailed within three business days. Once favorites have been chosen, edits will be emailed within 3 weeks of the confirmed favorites selection. Please notify the photographer of any deadlines before the shoot. If you need your images earlier, you can request them at an additional fee. See add-ons below.

A 50% nonrefundable session retainer is required to book and hold your session's desired date and time. This retainer protects from no-shows and last-minute cancellations. The retainer is deducted from the session and can be credited towards 1 future session if it's rescheduled within 72 hours before your photoshoot. All remaining balances are due during the session, and you will receive images once paid in full.

Your date will not be put on the calendar until retainer has been received

Total session time includes any prep the client may need, such as prop staging, walking, driving, hair, makeup, and outfit changes. Late arrivals will result in shorter sessions. More time can be added for extra backdrops, multiple concepts, and locations, but it is not guaranteed the day of. Be sure to factor in additional time between your appointments to ensure no scheduling conflicts.

Sessions with multiple locations and areas outside Kansas City Limits must be addressed to the photographer before booking, as travel expenses and/or additional time may be required. The photographer does travel to other states.

where is your studio?

NiahRose Photo Studio and BrushCo Studio are located downtown in the heart of the crossroads, within minutes of each other. The location of your shoot will depend on the concept and availability.

Unless told otherwise, your photo shoot will be held at NiahRose Photo Studio, conveniently searchable on Apple & google Maps: 2006 Baltimore Avenue, Kansas City, MO, 64108

Please note that Niah's home studio has stairs and no elevator access. Please let the photographer know if this is an issue; another studio will be provided.

HOW MANY OUTFITS CAN I BRING?

Outfit changes are welcomed if they fall into the package timeframe. More time can be purchased for multiple concepts, locations, and outfits. Please see add-ons for more info.

*An hour and a half is usually enough time for 2-3 outfits, depending on the complexity of the vision/set/location.

what props do you have? can i bring my own?

You will have access to choose from over 30 different paper backdrop colors, metallic backdrops, canvas backdrops, and white brick, as well as access to red & gold throne chairs, white & silver throne chairs, other chairs, stools, boxes, crowns, money gun, prop money, studio wardrobe, and, accessories.

*balloons, cake, and other unique props, etc., are NOT INCLUDED, but you are more than welcome to bring items to make your shoot unique to you.

*Confetti can be photoshopped into the image!

WHEN WILL I RECEIVE MY PHOTOS?

Once photos have been taken, proofs will be emailed within 3 business days of the session. Once favorites have been chosen, finished edits will be emailed within 3 weeks of the favorites selection date. Raw/Original Images are not included, but the entire unedited gallery can be purchased separately. Your gallery will remain online for (4) weeks. If your gallery expires before you download it, you may request a gallery reload at a rate of $25.

WHAT IF I NEED MY PICTURES SOONER?

Deadlines must be approved by the photographer and made before booking, if possible. The photographer will try to meet the deadline requests, but additional fees may be required. The photographer shall not be held responsible if the client fails to provide favorite selections on time. The photographer will start on any rushed edits once full payment is received.

IMAGE PROCESSING, RETOUCHING, AND EDITS

You will select the images I edit based on your selected package. Any additional edits must be purchased before the photographer will start editing. The photographer will only deliver the high-resolution, retouched, edited, and JPEG images to the client and will not send unedited original "RAW" files under any circumstance unless purchased separately. The photographer spends 2-3+ hours on each image, ensuring selected favorites are edited to the highest perfection. Photographer professionally edits and retouches face, body, background, contrast, lighting, color, distracting objects, and cropping.

-I highly recommend hiring a professional to do your hair and makeup to ensure the highest quality photos. Please be sure to try on your clothing before the shoot to make sure it fits correctly. Please refrain from relying on the photographer (photoshop editing) to correct your hair, makeup, and clothing. The lack of quality within your prep can not guarantee high-quality results within the retouching process. Please ask for my preferred list if you need a good stylist, makeup artist, or hair artist.

-PLEASE NOTE

Additional retouching fees will be required for poor wig installs. Your lace must be good quality and blended correctly, or you will be charged extra or left as is. (Up to $12/Image depending on severity) Unfortunately, it's not easy to fix in Photoshop, which adds multiple hours of editing to correct it.

SESSION RULES & LATE POLICY

-Please be on time and arrive no more than 15 minutes early

The session will start at your scheduled time. If you are late, it will still end at your scheduled time.

-If you are 30 minutes late, and no effort has been made to contact the photographer, your session will be automatically canceled. Your retainer will act as your cancelation fee, and a new retainer will be required to book in the future.

-If the session exceeds your scheduled time, you will be charged for each 1/2 hour. ($50)

-Children are not allowed in the studio unless they are part of the shoot or approved by the photographer ahead of time, and they must be accompanied at all times.

-No glitter or confetti cannons (photographer can photoshop in photo)

-No smoking or fire of any kind in the studio

-No colored turmeric powder for sessions in the studio

-No other forms of photography or videography during the session without the photographer's express written permission.

RESCHEDULING & WEATHER

Should you need to reschedule, 72 hours' notice is required. One event of rescheduling is allowed, but please give as much notice as possible. Please do not reschedule for minor skin injuries or blemishes. If the weather is torrential and we cannot shoot, the session will be rescheduled or shot in a studio. Clouds, light wind, and light sprinkles aren't a problem, and I usually go ahead with the session.
